Just wondering how long will the harddisk keep us in his grip? Isn't it true that the harddisk is our biggest flaw in a pc when it comes to speed? The raptor does a very good job but couldn't flash memory do the job even faster? Just wondering if there are any new developments in the make....als what about power saving....I think that when all pc users dont use a hdd anymore the world would consume also less more power. :) Just a silly thought....Where is the flash memory?

Thx Wusy...that explains a lot why flash memory dont stand a chance in durability vs harddisks but are there any alternatives for making a storage device without moving parts? I'm curious if there are any new developments on this matter. The Gigabyte's iRAM is a pretty cool invention but too less storage capacity....... but I think it's a step in the right direction.
