Alright, so heres my story. I got a promotion on the XFX GeForce 6800 Xtreme 256MB for $105CA. This was a mistake and is much cheaper then what it is suppose to be, but if its worth getting im going to fight for the price they advertised and buy two of them. Right now i have a XFX Geforce 6600GT 128MB. For some reason the 6800 is about $10 cheaper then my 6600GT and I dont really understand why. Would it be worth getting two 6600 Xtreme cards for $210? If so what would the performance be compareable to? Would it be somewhere in the range of the 7000 series? Im trying to see if im getting better performance for money and if its worth paying the 210$ for the upgrade. Can anyone help me? Iv already tried checking several places for benchmarks and such but I dont have an amazing understanding on graphic cards.

Thanks.

I take it u wantin to go sli. I personally would not try sly with lower end cards. If your gonna spend up to 2 bills, if it was me I would get the x850xt, with the 16 pipes. Is like the pe version with the larger HS and double blade fan. Great overclocker too. can get for 160-170, maybe cheaper if refurb/oem. Is a great card, and in my opinion best bang for buck in that price range. I believe that it would outperform those 6800's in sli.

First off, are you sure you have an SLI motherboard? PCI-express?

If so, you're proabbly better off with a single 7600 GT for under $200. The X800XTs are great as well, slightly better but are now slightly above $200.

Don';t bother with two 6600s in SLI. SLI is not really cost effective for geting the best performance for your dollar.
