I'd like to idealy find a reasonably priced 5.1 speaker set that has wireless rear speakers. I know Logitech has one, but it's about $300 if I remember right. Anything out there in the $100 or less range?

Check Radioshack if they have anything like this.

Maybe you could put together a couple of radios and a radio transmitter? Your very own DIY 5.1 set ;)

With the odd plug configurations, that would be harder than I'd like I'd think.
