soun cards for video editing

i have a creative live 5.1 sound card. i edit videos with adobe premier.
the final sounds are pretty good but i feel like they are not enough.
the sound sometimes comes distorted when i manipulate the sound stream,like if i increase the db.

i was thinkin of upgrading to x-fi xtreame music, do u guys think its worth that? (does audio processor really matter a lot?)

yes .. it will worth but it wont help in video editing. it will help u in audio kinda stuff.
