[SOLVED] Mac memory 30gb full but with what?

My macbook pro with 150gb hard drive is a little over half full and ive looked under apps and everything and i only find 57gb of space taken up i don't know what the other 27gb are? how can i find them??

If you are using filevault empty your trash can and log out. Filevault deletes the trashcan after the hash key is out of memory.

Try clearing your file permissions. It's under disk utility. Mac uses a terrible paging system for memory.

I'm not an expert, but those have helped me with my overstuffed mac hardrive.
