Hi gang,
I know this is old stuff but I have a asus p4s800d-x with a 1.8e on it and am going to put a 3.0e and need to know what is the best chip cooler for it. I know you are saying why bother but this is my old dual purpose machine that I do a little music/video editting on and for now just want to perk up the engine. I have 1Gb pc2700 and 5 HD's including a raid. An antec case wtith 2x 80 intake, 2x80 exhaust and added 120 on side intake and 120 ontop exaust, Thanks for your help....bob t

Zalman, Thermaltake, Gigabyte. Maybe a nice sink from Swifttech...
These are some brands you should take a peak at.

I just upgraded to a 3.2 presscot PGA478 with the standard heatsink, I used some Arctic Silver 5 and run about 33'C with good case ventilation.

CNPS9500 LED- i use it on a 3.0c @ 3.5ghz all day, never above 41c at load.

Hi Gang and thanks for your imput. I have read many reviews against the stock set up so probably will check out the Zalman or one of the others mentioned above. Have to check them out and make sure it will fit in my box. Thanks again...bobt

The zalman is a good choice, dropped my Prescott about 10 C. good luck man.
