stationary IP number of server in LAn

Do you konw or is it a possible to find out in my LAN what number of server is .... . Because I haven't stationary IP (I have dynamic number) , and some person (fro my LAN) bought stationary IP form our networking provider and created server ftp.I would like to know if I can find out my LAN what this number of IP(server) is .... .Is it a possible or not in LAN.

Are you asking how to find out the current IP of your own machine? Windows? Tried running ipconfig?

No no...I want to find out IP of server my friend.I have LAN.My friend was in LAN 2 weeks ago.But now he bought from our the networking provider stationary IP and create server( I have "dhcp" number ).IS IT POSSIBLE to find out number my frind's new IP from my machine.I would like specialists from networking to answer ,please if you know....!!!

There are ways to track it down if you absolutely had to, but it would probably be easier to buy a ski mask and sneak into his house to run an ipconfig.

Whats the setup? Is he on the same LAN as you? In the same subnet? Or is he reachable over a WAN connection? We need more info.

Nah, all he needs is a port scanner. You can find a lot of port scanners online. I assume he has a class C network...if so, then he only has 253 systems to scan ports 20 and 21 for. Just find an port scanner online. NMap is pretty good, but it won't search your entire LAN for you. Really, what you want is a port scanner that checks for an open connection on ports 20 and 21.

if you know the name of it just ping the name and it will tell you the ip.

Probably,it might be a good idea.I'm going to check it.But Do you konw a port scanner that it will be able to search my entire LAN????
