I'm hoping to begin building a new PC in the next few weeks and just want to check it over.
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
- Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
- Corsair 2Gig DDR400 (2 x 1Gig)
- XFX 7900GTX 512MB DDR3 Dual DVI
- Creative Soudblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
- Enermax Liberty 620W PSU
- Thermaltake Kandalf Tower
- Dell 2005FPW 20" widescreen LCD
- Windows XP Professional x64
I'll likely add another 7900GTX but I'll wait until the price drops, one should be enough for now. I'll be using my current HDD and optical drives, so that juts about does it.
The stock cooling with the case should be enough, but I will be upgrading the CPU Cooler with the Thermaltake Mini Tycoon (link).
Awesome! You could save some money going to a X2 4600 or 4400, but that's just me
Also, a 7900GT or a Radeon 1900XT/X are good options
If you want to save some money, that is
But wow! That system will rule!

I'll definately stick with the X2 4800 and 7900GTX since I'm still within budget
As the mainboard already comes with 8 channel sound, I'd consider dropping the sound card (aren't Fatality series $175??) and opting instead for a Dell 24" 2405 widescreen!
Your 7900GTX would be a great match for it!
(You can always add a soundcard later if/when you feel you even need one...)
sounds like the best system to me if i hv that budget i'll be getting the same thing.... well maybe XFX 7900GTX xxx instead =P and i dunno about this psu. The case might be a bit heavier if ur going for lan party, u can get a lighter one ^^. And i agree with mdd1963 get a dell 24" 2405 it's big, got good quality n it's value for money. Bigger monitor will really show the power of this graphic card. It'll be a good choice to get a cooling sys as ur still within ur budget coz heat might be an issue and u dont want ur new sys to hv any prob.
