Info on intensive graphics pcs

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I want to build a pc that will be great for 3d rendering and also for web design. I dont know if a high end gaming pc would be ok or I would be leaning towards something else. I would like to go the 64 bit route. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
