I tried to install a PCI graphics card the other day and noticed that I was not able to turn off the onboard graphics chip. I would tend to think that the bios would have the ability to turn off the onboard graphics like any other onboard device but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone else have any sililar experience? I would like some comments...

Should be an option to turn it off somewhere - look for Advanced, PCI devices (most onboard graphics chipsets use a PCI device lane), or Onboard devices.

Could possibly be a jumper that needs changed on the mobo. I had an old HP that I put a PCI video card in and I had to physically move a jumper to disable onboard video.
