Microsoft help is it Ok to run Windows 7 on dynamic disk

Hello,
I juts purchased a HP laptop with windows 7 home premium. I chose to create a seperate volume for my personal files in disc management . After doing this all volumes including the c drive have turne dto dynamic drives from basic drives . the computre works fine but is this an issue haveing the drives a dynamic ?

I'm scared by the fact that they switched to dynamic by themselves. Older microsoft OS's (Win98 and prior) can't read these disks. Being dynamic should not effect Win 7 at all.

I doubt that the change wasn't flagged. The OP may not have realized what he was clicking "OK" to. Dynamic disks are more versatile for a Windows-only machine, so no harm done.

True, but if he ever needs to access the drive from a live linux cd, he may not be able to.
