In the manual for my motherboard it says only PCI Express video cards which have passed running at 4x can run in the PCI Express slot. (This is because the board is dual AGP/PCI Express. The slot is a 16x but the cards will only run at 4x mode.)

I wish to buy a newer video card, and I'm willing to shell out 500+ dollars for one this time. However the newest card in the list is a 6800. Does anyone know of newer video cards like the 1900 or something close working with the P5VD1-X?

In case specs are needed they are as follows:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 530 J 3.00 Ghz
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 48
Motherboard: Asus P5VD1-X 800/1066 FSB Dual PCI Express/AGP Onboard sound
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Meg AGP 8x
Memory: 1 gig PC 3200 Kingston
OS: Dual boot Win XP SP 2/Linux

Thanks in advance.

I have the exact mobo but with Celeron D proc. I'm still using PCIe 6600GT but would like to upgrade my vcard.

Has anybody tried using X1900-series PCIe vcard on this?
