Hi, can you help me out and post your 3DMark05 scores here so i can compare with mine. Prefrebly scores from systems similar to my set up.
Thanks. My Score was 8052. Also is my score normal for my system?
March 20, 2006 5:24:54 PM

My Score is 7541 !
and YES , YES , YES ...  Your Score Is Far Than Normal , Go See The LASTET Tomshardware VGA Chart , The 7800GTX Gets 7700 POINT !! Wich Means You Have Got Better Score Than Standard 7800GTX !!

Mine is 10042 in SLI mode of course! Although I haven't oc my cards and ram yet. Plus I could use some water cooling to get higher performance. But for now, no games can shake my rig, so I'm happy with it. :D

results ~ 4,935 3DMarks06 and 9,881 marks in 3DMark05

My Score was 11457 with the machine listed in my sig, with no overclocking. The 7800GT's come overclocked from eVGA though.
March 20, 2006 6:47:56 PM

Broke 9000 with a single oc'd X1800 XL and budget 939dual-SATA2 board with an oc'd Athlon64 3400+.

Clicky in the sig.
March 20, 2006 7:12:31 PM

Yeah, saw some others post results with X1800XL like that.
I'm ordering one on Thursday to play with. Also planning on picking up a 7900GT once they come back in stock on newegg.
March 20, 2006 7:50:36 PM

Let us know how that 7900 GT works out.

I suspect those will OC like the crazy...

i cant run 3d Mark 05 or 06 or 03

i can run 3d Mark 2001 SE :)

i got a 3256 :)

Your 05 score is about the same as mine, my 06 score is higher though.
March 20, 2006 8:54:27 PM

What's your setup? I get 2,270 with mine :( .

3dmark really dont impress me, I like fps in game vs 3dmarks. Like fear runs far better on my x1900xtx vs the 2 7800's. How much did your cards cost?
March 20, 2006 9:08:33 PM

Just ran 05 and scored 12,554; there must be something seriously wrong with your setup.

Considering I had them months before your card was out, and the fact they were about the same price as your single card; I'm satisfied.
What's your average framerate on 1280x1024 with 4XAA and 16XAF? I only got an average of 74FPS, but I have the ability to watch live T.V. and play games without any slowdown.
March 20, 2006 9:45:29 PM

8900.

Thats one XFX 520 mhz 7900 gt and an opty 165.
March 20, 2006 9:52:16 PM

Your score is pretty decent for a single graphics card although you can probably get it a bit higher with some overclocking. As someone above notes you can get the whole world's scores on the 3DMark project site.

My first run came in at around 7300-7400 with no overclocking.

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
AMD 64 4000+ 2400 MHz
2 GB OCZ EL Platinum Dual Channel PC3200 2-3-2-5
eVGA 7800GT 445/1.07
Ultra 500W X-Connect
Currently running with a 250 GB WD IDE Hard Drive as

Managed to push it up to 8000-8100 with about 6% overclocking on the processor and around 476/1.17 on the GPU but with less than optimal memory timings.

The score is a combination of CPU and GPU performance so not entirely dependent on you GPU. Its a good tool to find out what works and what doesn't but at the end of the day if your system plays games okay then who cares - you'll always find someone who's scoring higher or has more moolah to spend chasing every last bit of performance and scores on 3DMark may not translate directly to actual gaming performance as different games respond differently depending on your combination of CPU & GPU.
March 21, 2006 12:02:33 AM

How I'd love to overclock my CPU to improve my lousy 3DMark scores. But I have a crappy proprietary HP motherboard :( , so there's no chance of that. I have my x600 overclocked to the max (561/310 MHz core/memory) with the stock cooler and no (!) VRAM heatsinks. I'm going to buy a new cooler and some copper heatsinks and overclock it till it explodes :) .
March 21, 2006 2:53:02 AM

Update for a further overclock.
I'm taking it in small steps.

Around 5880. I didn't bother stopping every background process or anything though.

Don't count on all of them to do that. I have read that the XL's have the original flawed XT core and can run into current leakage above 550 core speed. I can attest to that. I scored 8018 on mine (can't overclock my memory at all) and after running for hours, it started to freeze up. Fortunately, it unfroze and continued like all was well, but then the freezes became more frequent. Backing it down to 550 has really improved reliability, but also dropped my scores to 7800-7850 range.

Apparently, the problems are not heat related and can't be fixed with cooling solutions.

Most of the guys on the Rage3d forums are getting at LEAST 600 mhz even with stock cooling on their X1800 XLs. Lots of guys between 650 and 700 Mhz.

Mine had trouble until I used Atitool to bump up the volts a bit, then it went sky high. I haven't heard of the problems you're speaking of, not to say they don't exist, just haven't encountered them.

Some guys are geting crappy RAM though. Did you increase your ram voltage? How far did you go?
March 21, 2006 4:06:56 PM

I got 3230, I thought it would be higher.

My Rig:
Athlon 64 3800 (2.4)
80GB SATA2 HD
Geforce 6600 GT OC (128MB)
Antech 500W Smartpower PSU
March 21, 2006 4:30:21 PM

i got 1263 on my 3dmarks with the system in my sig.. no thats not a typo.. something is stupid in my machine...

That's without overclocking at all since I don't need that much performance and no games right now that can slow down my rig. I can play FEAR at highest settings with 1280x1024 and still getting around 80fps. So I don't overclocked it unless for testing only, Im planning to get a water cooling soon and then I can overclock my system to play games. :D

Look at the ORB. The highest score with an x600 is 2,811 with a 2.72GHz Athlon 64, a 200 MHz GPU overclock, and 320 MHz on the VRAM. So mine's not too bad, especially for a stock P4 and the stock cooler on my x600.
March 21, 2006 6:23:38 PM

You should be scoring higher than 10,000 with two 7800GTXs.

But your graphics card is FAR superior to mine. You should be getting much better scores.

My old PC is completely stock with zero OCing and generic memory.

The MOBO kicks ass though..
March 22, 2006 1:55:02 PM

I got 10777 with the specs in my sig... that was 2005, but with 3DMark2006, my PC managed to handle the heavy system rape-age and get 5518 score.... all with a slightly OC'ed 4200+ and a non-OCed X1900XT.... better than some SLI configs.... :D  I love ATI....

Actually, your graphics card kicks mine's @$$. 9800 Pro has 256-bit memory, and it's faster than the x600 memory.
March 25, 2006 6:29:35 PM

any good ?
March 25, 2006 6:56:26 PM

nice, we almost got the same rig specs wise. But i overclocked my XT to 702/1602Mhz with ATiTool.

05 seems a little low, but this is the 1st time ive broke 6200 in 06'!!
March 25, 2006 8:09:27 PM

Sapphire AGP X800GTO (R480) = 5,761

MSI NX7800GS(Goes Slow Edition   ) = 6,762

March 25, 2006 8:38:31 PM

An overpriced $300 graphics card.
I scored 12,599 on 3DMark05.
March 25, 2006 8:45:38 PM

His GTO score is quite nice actually.

The 7800GS is severly neutered, so the fact that he's outpacing his X800
but 1k points is pretty nice.

GW: How does it take overclocking? Is that the max core mem?
Still nice, as I see the standard frequencies you have smashed completely.

Dude, you were stupid enough to buy a gutless X600, yet you want to tell me my 3dmark score sucks.

I'd guess your card gets about 2xxx in 05 eh'?

No man you've got it wrong; I was simply stating I got that score, not trying to compare it to yours. I'm also looking into a 7800GS for my AGP system.
