975X and Conroe

Good day

Do we know whether the 975X chipset will support the new Conroe CPU, or will the current 975X motherboards be obsolete.

Some say yes and others say no...............

Any ideas

975X will support the Conroe, it just needs a bios update. Intel is also releasing 965 mobos for the Conroe.

The chipset itself supports it. Whether third party boards with that chipset will work is a different story.
Since Intel had not released conroe specs @ the time they sent out the 975X, some mobo makers may not have included v reqs that work with conroe.
All boards made after the end of march should be fine.
