buy if conroe performs like the preview when it comes out so 4 months from not INTEL would be.

This guy's admin of this place putting in a stooge-post purely to get fanboys whipped up into a frenzy just to increase total views/hits in some kind of e-forum-penis contest

Who's better? Intel sells 80% of desktop processors and is a much bigger corporation, but then they come later in the dictionary so perhap's they're not so good [/sarcasm]

If I worked @ AMD, I would gank an AM2 & Mobo, buy some DDR2-800 RAM, and show you REAL benchmarks using a top-line nF4 mobo. 8O

New poll idea:

Which is the favorite core in your processor:

a) Core 0
b) Core 1
c) I don't have a dual-core processor
d) I don't have a processor

We've already established the fanboy accusations, but the fact you believe those benchmarks, brings you to a whole new level...one of which I dare not speak 8O.

This thread is pointless and people instead of letting it die keep it on top.
Well it goes without saying, Intel is better cause they have $$$ and are working on an already miraculous CPU.
And about the benchies,if you don't believe them, fine but don't flame others who do. AT is a very trusted site and they wouldn't bash AMD even if it hit them in the face.

Intel is the better company because they have more $? How about back in 1986 when Intel screwed AMD over? That make them a better company because they screw over their PARTNER?! Yeah..somebody doesn't know the history of AMD and Intel apart from what your CPU Instruction Manual says .

ON AT: Show me 1 company who wouldn't bash another for $, please....

Whichever one my kernel decides is better :D

Weather AT got payed is uncertain but AT in all those years gained a lot of credibility and many people are willing to take those results seriously and wait.
Nothing but speculation at this point,oh with one exception. AMD will be squeezing 3-5% perf. boost from AM2 clock per clock and that is when it uses DDR2 800. Probably designing a good DDR2 memory controler was too much for them to handle. Or high latencies diminished the bandwitch effect in most benchies.
Meanwhile Intel's research has been going smooth as silk.

I guess ignorance can get the best of us...or worst of us as in your case .

I dunno. I'd side with MMM only because a free chip* gives a much better price-to-performance ratio than one that you have to buy.

*Provided that said chip is at least as powerful as the one you already have. A free PII or K6 isn't that great.
