Heya, I have two sticks of Geil pc 3700, 2x512mb and 2 of samsung pc 2100 2x1gb

... my mb is an Asus P4G8X DELUXE
- The manual says that the mb supports 4gb (dual channel) of memory using PC 2100/pc1600 ...

I'm just wondering if there is a way I could do it?? Any help would be great, thanks!

go ahead and try it. The faster memory will slow down to what the fsb is set to. I would go into the bios and manually set the memory speed to pc2100 speeds.

That's what I thought, I was just wondering if there was a way it would work. Also, when I just put the PC3700 in, it causes the computer to hang... do you know why that is based on those mb specs?

--oops didn't see that message-- kay, I'll try it. =)

Generally speaking it's bad to mix latencies- not necessarily RAM speeds.

So long as you can get all 4 sticks to run at the same latencies and frequency everything should work fine.

It's probably not working right now because you've mixed up the latencies. What are the latencies on the PC2100 memory?
