I have an Intel d845pebt2 motherboard with a 2.4ghz cpu.
I was wondering if its true that I cant overclock my cpu and whatever should be overclocked with this motherboard.

If its not true, please explain me what should I do to overclock my system or redirect me.

Thanks in advance - 0ver1oad

I think you're a bit out of luck if you have a genuine intel board. They never offer anything in the way of overclocking options, and tend to be geared for stability.

You might be able to get a third-party BIOS that allows some overclocking options, but I doubt it.

Check if you have options for adjusting Bus speed, memory speed, memory timings, and voltage settings in your BIOS. without those, you'll not be able to do anything.

if it is a 2.4A (I'm not talking about prescott) and not a 2.4B, then you may be able to clock that northy up a bit by pin modding to the 533 fsb. At that point it will be clocking at 3.2 GHz, which is probably too optimistic for an old 2.4A Northy to reach. Don't despair though, a 2.4 GHz p4 is an okay chip, even at stock speeds.
