It's finally time; I can count the hours until I'll get my hands on a copy of oblivion with the help of all my limbs now...
But that damn damokles sword is going to strike. I am sure of it. And here's why:
AMD X2 4200+
ATI 850XT
ASUS A8N2-SLI
4X 512 Corsair
This setup scores 2300 3DMark06 points (could be better I guess; am I doing something wrong?), which is not even good enough for a decent setting in COD2.
So my guess is that I have to get myself a new GC. But which one?
That isn’t a good number even with that video card (which btw, should be OK). The first thing I noticed is the 4 sticks of ram – you should cut that down to two which will speed you up a little. You should also take a long hard look at your BIOS setup and see if all the settings are optimal. It only takes a couple of incorrect settings to slow you down! I think Tom’s has a BIOS walk through if you need it.
What intrigues me all the more are the RAM settings; when on auto it clocks it for 333... I had set it to 400 (2.5-3-3-7) manually but don't know about the correct timings there. It works though, but makes no real difference for the score.
One more question: If you guys post 3DMark scores here; what settings do you use? (like 1024X768 noAA)
