What is intel thinking?

intel just released another pentium D 900 series - 965 EE.
i don't understand.. but didn't they just create the conroe hype? why would they keep releasing their obviously inferior PD double core design processor?

Cos they've got 6 months of sales to fill, and a warehouse full of CPU's they are not selling and obviously now have some better bin splits to they can offer higher end products at higher prices.
The like of Ford and GM often launch a new model variation just before they launch a complety new model to get rid of old stock
