I was tinkering with my evga geforce 6600 256mb DDR after i downloaded Nvdia's newest drivers and i was wondering what is the max clock speed that anyone has heard of or seen on a geforce 6600 DDR with stock cooling?

*note* my card is non-GT it is a plain old vanilla geforce 6600

so far i have it up to 325MhzGpu and 550MhzDDR

Im just wondering if these speeds are stable enough to have the card last another year or so and if possible if i could push it higher without it dying on me in the next few months.

System specs:
Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0Ghz w/HT
1.5Gig PC3200 DDR
250Gig WD IDE HD
intel D915GRo Mobo
Evga Geforce 6600 256mb DDR

Well, since the core is exactly the same as the 6600 GT, your core could handle 500 Mhz easy assuming cooling was adequate.

Memory is a little harder to say, but generally memory is pretty hard to outright kill. Take it up as high as it will go before artifacting and then pull it back 10 to 20 Mhz or so, whatever you feel safe with.

thanks cleeve,

wow... 500mhz core clock?

what do you mean by adaquet(sp?) cooling? i cannot get the nvsilencer since i have all my slots filled up and cant afford the fan to take up another adjacent slot, so i was looking at this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16835110123

would this be enough cooling to push teh core up to 450-500Mhz?

i already have heat sinks on my ram so is that sufficeint to cool them off if i overclock them more?
