A7V-E + Athlon XP?

I currently have an Asus A7V-E motherboard, with the top Athlon chip for the Socket A. (Athlon "C" 1400MHz).

Does anyone know if this motherboard can support the newer Athlon XP chips?

I was wondering if I can upgrade to a higher speed Athlon XP, at least one of the ones that uses the same 133MHz FSB as my current CPU?

The manual simply says that it supports "Socket-A based AMD Athlon/Duron processors".

It doesn't specifically mention if it does or does not support the XP series of chips, but when the manual was written, I don't think the XP chips were even out then.

Just wanted to know if anyone out there has ever tried it, or if they know if it works or not?

It looks like that's the highest processor it supports.
It would be a much better to upgrade the entire motherboard for a new processor, socket A processors are getting to be more expensive than the newer 754s and 939s, it's over $100 just for an AthlonXP 3000+
