Yo, I have a A8N-SLI Deluxe, and I was going to buy a Maxtor 80gb HDD,
but then I read that there are compatability issues.
http://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/maxtor.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2685&p_created=1136595488&p_sid=YHSLpj3i&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9bmZvcmNlNA**&p_li=&p_topview=1
(Sorry bout that long link, dont know how to shorten it)
So, is there any other good HDD's out there that are 80GB,cheap, reliable, SATA and work with NForce4, or have they actualy fixed this problem by
now on all the newer Maxtor drives

Any help appreciated.

I too have an a8n-sli deluxe. I've always used maxtor hard drives and have had very few problems.

The only problem I have found to be widespread is a problem with NCQ support. I disabled this (can be disabled within the nForce IDE driver).

I work in a computer shop, and we've always used maxtor and western digital drives - infact the main pc in the shop is running two maxtor 80GB sata drives on an nforce 4 ultra board.

If you'd rather not use maxtor, you can pick up something like the WD Caviar 80GB (SATA II) for under £40 from WD direct.
