Hi everyone

I'm new here, and only semi-fluent in the latest GPU stuff (last time I looked into it, Radeon 9800 Pro was only a step or two down from top o the line). I'm looking into a laptop, and I'm wondering how a Mobility X600 compares to my desktop's 9800 Pro. I've been looking for hours, and maybe I just fail at Google, but I can't find much that would compare these two in terms of benchmarking etc. I found some hard stats, but honestly they don't mean that much to me as far as how much real difference I'll see in terms of framerates etc.The stats I found are also for the regular X600, I'm not sure if it's the same as the Mobility card.

I typically play Final Fantasy XI, Guild Wars, Unreal Tournament 2004, and probably the most intensive things I play are Dawn of War and Doom 3 (not very often though).

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
-Stabby

The X600 does not even come close to the Mobility 9800, let alone the desktop 9800 Pro. The X600 has 4 pipelines and gets a 3dMark01 score of around 12000 while the 9800 Pro can reach 30000 and has I think 8 pipelines. Anyway in short, the X600 cant even begin to compare with the 9800 Pro.

You need a mobility x700, that is a better match to the 9800 Pro.

I can actually play Oblivion on medium settings and HL2 on max settings using a mobility x700. Not great, but possible. Even this surprised me.
