Hey guys and who knows, maybe even girls? lol I just moved from europe to canada (ottawa to be precise) for a couple of years (embassy work) and i left my old PC @ home, so it's time to get a new one. Yippeee :))
The trouble is i'm sort of lost here for the time being and could use some heads up on where to buy. So far i have stumbled upon some ads for a place called 'MDG Computers', they offer a lot of specials like free upgrades to 2gb ram, 500gb hdd etc. Is the place legit? Anyone here who has dealt with them already or know someone who has? Or can you recommend any online stores that ship to canada? i know that there's NCIX, but they seem rather expensive compared to newegg (no i did not forget to calculate can to us dollars :P). prices are a big deal to me for the time being because i just moved in last week and money is just flying out the window as i try to set up my 'new life' lol. So any suggestions are more than welcome. THX

I'm in Ottawa, and built my current rig last Nov.

I bought parts from Everbest Computers (local, in the phone book)

and e-retailers tigerdirect.ca and Bytewise Computers (in Kingston, Ont.)

If you are planning to build, I'd recommend the above three.

If you are looking to buy a preassembled rig, I'd go for a more knowledgable outfit like Sprint Computers (on Somerset near Preston). I have bought stuff and had repairs done at Sprint and they were tech savvy. MDG, Like FutureShop, is strickly for the unwashed.

Thanks a lot for that Bob
I am certainly not looking for anything pre-assembled, I will go there only in the case of some major emergency. I don't count places like future shop, best buy etc. as note worthy places to go PC shopping, if i did i wouldn't have a problem in the first place, it's impossible to miss them. MDG said something on their web about customizing the rigs so i guess they build them in-store but whatever... I will definitely check out the places you mentioned, thanks once again.
Go SENS!! LOL
