Just wanted to ask some for some opinions. Think TES:Oblivion will run on my computer? Processor is the AMD athlon 64 3000+ , graphics card:
NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700LE , and i have 512 Mb of RAM. i believe that the only thing that doesn't meet the minimum requirements is my Processor.

The CPU meets the requirements. What you should be looking for is:
A hefty memory upgrade(add one gig at least)
A better gfx card(6600GT onwards)
Overall cost 250$+

I would agree that the video and ram are your main problems. Generally when they say a 2ghz minimum they are talking about a P4. Your processor is much faster than a 2ghz P4.

Is that a s939 or s754 3000+? If that's a s939, I think you should get the 3800 X2+ if you can afford it because Oblivion benefits from mult-cores so it'll run faster. If s754, get a 3400+ or a 4000+. Graphic card, upgrade to a 6800GS or at least a 6600GT. If you got some money to burn, get the 7800GS.

I thought that AMD athlon 64 3000+ is only 1.8Ghz. P4 on the other hand is 2Ghz.

Hell no.

They don't recommend a GeForce 6800 GT/GS series or Radeon X800 XL/XT series for the game for nothing.

Upside is you only need a new video card to be able to run it smoothly.

Maybe another 512 MB, or another 3 x 512 MB, too.

TES:Oblivion is not that CPU intensive, so it will run fine on the Athlon 64 3000+ as it gives similar / better performance than a 3 GHz Pentium 4. Yes it may benefit from dual-core, However: There is no point upgrading your processor, you'll see little gain.

The GeForce 6600 GT mentioned above is 'barely' enough, aim for a GeForce 6800 GT/GS or Radeon X800 XL/XT. It says this on the box and in the ReadMe for the game FFS.

An A64 is enough for any new game today and most probably well into the future. You should, however, have at least 1 Gig of RAM and a much, much, much better video card. The 5700LE sucks, plain and simple.

Also, it's time you learned that processor clock(Ghz) is only one, of many, factors that determine performance. When they say 2 Ghz as a minimum recommended that translates to 'a CPU that performs roughly the same as a P4 at 2 Ghz.'

Your A64 is miles and miles and miles and miles and miles (lots of miles) ahead of a 2 Ghz P4. See? It's ahead of a P4 clocked at a full Ghz higher for most games.

Good point. Never ever touch "special" cheaper editions such as LE or SE.
They usually perform a lot worse though some of them can be unlocked.
