I'm looking for a multifunction printer to replace a thermal FAX
machine and an HP840c inkjet printer, and to add copier functions.

The Brother MFC3340CN and MFC5840CN printers seem to be front runners,
does anyone have any experience of or comments on these two printers?

Suggestions for alternatives would be welcome too, however I have
researched quite a bit and the HP and Canon offerings don't quite
offer the range of facilities I need (for a similar price).

I'd be particularly interested in any comments on the paper feed
arrangments of the Brother printers, i.e.:-
Does the ADF work well?
How is paper stacked when copying from the ADF?
Does the printer need a lot of space around it?
