Pin modding?

wat is the point of pinmodding if u can simply oc?
or is this trick for dells?

I have seen a guide for doing a pinmod on a Dell Inspiron 9300 or XPS Gen 2 that lets you run a 400MHz fsp Pentium M at 533MHz fsp.

The effect is turning a cheap 1.6GHz into a 2.1GHz.
I have even heard of a few 1.8GHz Pentium M going to 2.4GHz which is faster than any stock Pentium M.
