A7N8X Deluxe RAID Opinions

Anyone used the onboard SATA RAID solution on the Asus A7N8X Deluxe? I'm looking to speed up my disk access, since I just purchased X-Plane 8. I'm looking for a decent increase in speed, not wanting to spend hundreds of dollars on a high-end RAID card.

I've heard rumors that some people have had issues with data corruption with the onboard solution.

OS is Windows XP SP2.

I have setup and run three of these boards in raid 0 with maxtor plus 9 drives and have had no problems . 2 had a pair of 80 gig drives and the third had a pair of 200 gig drives all three still running 1.5 yrs later. Can be a pain to setup but once it is you will like it .
