I am building a new box + LCD 19 screen. Please can you comment on my selections!
(Intention here is a system that can be upgraded on to dual core CPU later....and also be vista ready)

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-K8NF9-Ultra Skt 939 Motherboard *nForce4 Ultra chipset *2000Mhz *ATX*3xPCI *2xPCI-E *1xPCIEx16 (graphics) *4xDDR slots support dual channel (max 4GB) *4xSATA *2xATA *T.I 1394b controller *
Video: MSI 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3000+ Socket939 CPU Boxed
RAM: (2x1024Mb) Corsair (VS2GBKIT400C3) Value Select DDR, PC3200 2x128Mx64non-ECC 2x184 DIMM, Unbuffered, CL3, 64Mx8 DRAMs

Monitor:
$370: Philips (190B6CS/00) 19" Silver LCD TFT Flat Panel. 8ms, 600:1

Any suggestions?
I am still uncertian about the mobo, Was also considering Asus A8N-E or the Asus A8N-SLI, but the Gigabyte seemed the better option.

May I suggest upgrading to SLI for a few extra bux? Newegg has some good deals for you...

eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI
just over $85 shipped

The Asus A8N-SLI would be nicer, but more $ (I am cheap). I got the EVGA above free w/ a 7800GT purchase, seems like a nice board.

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W SLI
$90 shipped (weekend sale!)

Not that I dislike the raidmax (is it this one?), it just doesn't have the dual-rail or SLI support. If it is the one I am looking at it does look better w/ the lights and all.

I had a RAIDMAX case/PSU. The case was cheap and the PSU was a piece of crap. The Antec is a much better choice and is my recommendation to my clients which are building new machines.

If you have the deskspace, you can get a 19" CRT with 1600x 1280 resolution for less than half the price of the LCD. That's what I'm doing, but I'm old fashioned.

If you're going to get a monitor, try a ViewSonic 19" 8ms LCD Monitor. Change the processor to a 3200+ and the video card to a X850XT because it has 4 more pixel pipelines than the 7600GT at a cheaper price.

what problems did you have with this power supply....the general reviews for raidmax PSU see good? It does have dual rails, see pecs below.
I really don't think that i can afford anything better without blowing out my budget I am already at the total max that i can spend, so getting a better power supply would mean cutting back on something else.

Why is the viewsonic better than this Phillips? I was advised that this phillips was better than a compaitivley priced Viewsonic?? What about the Benq monitors?
