Asrock 939 Dual SATAII 4xAGP problem

Hi. I've just got a new Asrock Dual SATAII motherboard and I've installed my trusty Gigabyte 6600GT 128mb AGP card. Everything's working fine apart from every utility I try reports that's it's only running at 4xAGP. It's set to 8x in the BIOS. Don't know what else I should be doing.

Any thoughts?

  1. Maybe the ULI integrated drivers are not installed.. but anyway, 8x AGP was bandwidth wasted and 4X is plenty sufficient anyway...
  2. Turned out to be a school boy driver issue. All better now.

8x made a huge difference to oblivion though. Went from bloom to HDR + distant land (in most places).

more than a driver issue than the AGP speed...
