Hey fellas my buddy told me about a program called "fraps". It's like a bench marking test, where it tells you how much FPS your getting in a game, video capture and what not. So, what is the difference between the free download verison and if you buy it retail? Also, does anyone know if this is a good program?

Main difference is Free program only lets you record 30 sec of video. The bought version will let you go on as long as you have storage space. You can set a limit in the bought version also. That is the main difference.
