Monitor Problem

Hey guys and gals,

I have a monitor issue and I am trying to figure out if anyone has heard of this. Every once in a while, my monitor will get very dark. It is like it loses the backlighting. If I cycle the power or change the refresh rate or something the monitor will come back to normal brightness, then after a few seconds it will go back into this "dark" mode again. I have tried to redo drivers, changing the connections around etc, without luck.

The monitor is a brand new Samsung SyncMaster 940b, and the graphics card is an older ATI radeon 9800 pro.

Any ideas?

Could be the monitor going out of synch... swap out the vid connector... try it with another PC.
That will determine if it is the mon or the video card.
