Folks,

Although moot as I have already put a deposit on it.......

I am getting a new GFX card.

As of now I have:

P4 HT 2.8 G 800 FSB.

512 Million male sheep.

FX5600 GFX card.

One monitor. (19 inch)

I am getting a 6600GT with 256 Meg ram DDR3 ram AGP8.

Anyone care to tell me how much of a kick I am going to see? % wise.

I currently get 30 FPS (set) but flying to some places sometimes, it
drops to 2.

Anyway, that aside, some other questions which have been touched on,
but not completely explained.

Ok, two monitors side by side make a nice "wide" view.

But something I am thinking of is ontop of each other.

Top monitor is ONLY outside view.

Bottom/lower monitor is the panel.

Do-able?

I may need a bit of help how to do it.

I am also playing with a bit of Go-flight gear and even may get some
"sim-kit" stuff for a real panel, but that is in the future.

ITMT, suggestions,comments.

Thanks in advance.

LOL.

But seriously.

Is it possible?

To drag the instruments "halfway down" onto the lower monitor,
leaving the top one with total external (front) view and the bottom
half of the lower monitor for more instruments?

I read in someone's reply that the critical thing is CPU speed rather than
graphics card. True?

also only 512 ram seams petty low, shouldn't you be hitting the 1gb for
better FS performance?

This is a common belief, but I recently removed half (512) of my gig
checking for a memory problem, and have noticed absolutely zero
difference running with 512. There are definately apps that need lots
of memory (Photoshop is one), but MFSF isn't.

hmm strange, but then again textures and so forth are dealt with the GPU and
not really system RAM
