I have a Minolta Pagepro 1250w. I have had it for about a year and
use it very lightly in my home. Just the other day, it began having
the problem of not picking up the paper. I looked in the paper
pickup area with a flashlight as it was sent a command to print. I
noticed that the paper seemed to lift but it did not even make it into
the rollers.

I should mention that I tried to go to the Minolta site to find some
answers to this problem. I found it to be very unhelpful. The
answer database was a complete zero. They need to learn how to do it
right.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

Thanks, Al Kondo

I think Minolta has a recall on this model.

Minolta indeed had a recall on this model, this was because the pick up gear
and coupler tend to break easily.
check if the roller itself is actualy turning. If it's not the coupler has
broken.

I called Minolta support and they claim that this model printer does
not have a recall on it. Like the other post on this thread, I would
like a source for the recall possibility on this machine.

Could you provide a source for this? My wife has this printer (no problems
so far) but I'd like to know if we need to take action? Came up with
nothing on the website an Google.

I'll check with my co-worker. Minolta just shipped him a replacement
printer.

If so, why has Office Max & Staples pushed this item with very low (even
without rebates) prices.....like $99 or less, when they probably knew about
the recall!

His printer was the 2300DL. My bad. Sorry for the misinformation. It's
still worth a try. All he did is send an email to them, at their web site.

Hi Al,
Its pretty common for the pick up rollers to get covered with paper
dust and then not have enough grip to pull the paper off the stack.
Unplug the printer and use a damp (water or alcohol) towel to wipe off
the roller and rubber pads that grab the paper.
My Minolta needs a good wipe down about every 1000 pages.
Hope this helps,
Dennis

Thanks for all of you who responded to my query about my balky Pagepro
1250W. I followed the advice of one of the posts and cleaned the
pickup roller with a clean, damp cloth. After that.. it worked
great! So thanks for the responses and great advice.
