After reading several different forums and guides, I am ready to start overclocking my CPU. I have a Thermalright SI-120 heatsink with a 120 mm fan on it. My question is, which way to mount the fan. Do I mount it so the fan draws the heat away from the heatsink or do I reverse it so it blows air down towards the motherboard. My logic would say to draw heat away from the heatsink/CPU/motherboard. I have looked at the manufacture's website and in the manual and it doesn't say which way, just how the keep fan attached to the heatsink. Thanks for the replies, any help is appreciated.

It should blowing down onto the heatsink, not away from it.goodluck.

Dahak is correct on general principal. However, tests have been done with this heatsink with the fan blowing in both directions, and either way is just as effective for cooling the cpu.

Saying that, if you have it blowing down, it will also cool your memory modules and MOSFETs.

Thanks for the help, I have it mounted to where it blows air down towards the HS/motherboard.
