Hi, I've read on quite some posts that the 7600GT comes only with 128-bit memory bus width. But reading on stores (ZipZoomFly), they cite 256-bit interface. What are they citing?

Also, between a 7600GT and a 7600GS which one is better?

Thanks!

7600 GT has 128 bit memory interface, and it absolutely destroys a 7600 GS. However the 7600 GS is priced accordingly. Definately go for a 7600 GT though.

They are simply mistaken, all 7600's - GS or GT - have a 128-bit interface.

Also keep an eye out for X850 XT's, good cards in the price range, and with a 256-bit bus to boot.

I currently own an Ati board (AiW Radeon 9600XT) but I feel it has some quirks, not to mention the fact that the AiW part kinda died on me. I couldn't send it in for warranty, and Ati People were unkind enough to not sell me an original fan, that's what died on me originally. So i'm not so sure bout ati cards right now, present experience with this one leaves me sore
Also, since this card I'm trying to stay away from fans, looking for mobo's and vcar'd without fans that improve dramatically my present condition (also changin computer)

Well most if not all of the 7600 GSs are passively cooled, ie no fan. And would
be a nice performance increase over your 9600XT. But I think you should give fans another chance. They last a while. I still have a Ti4200 with the original fan, getting a little noisey, but its still spinning.

You would need to upgrade to a PCI -EX (x16) motherboard in order to use either of these cards though...
