Hi amd xp 2800+ on a DFI NF2 U400S-AL board:

What should the freq. read in the BIOS ? I think 1250 is not the right freq?
I replaced my epox 8RDA+ and xp 2000 that blew 8 caps that ran good tranferring videos to dvd. MY new combo using the same hardware locks up a lot and dont seem any faster. No overclocking, i set system preformance -optimal amd memory freq SPD
I think this board is a dud I followed a guide from a DFI forum to set the BIOS

Thanks Bob

On what frequency must amd xp 2800+ work.
If it must work on frequency greater then 1250 mhz then you probably
must update bios.,

First in bios load bios defaults etc.(factory settings)
If that dont work update the bios.

you probably have to set up your fsb speed as a 2800 plus has a 333 fsb.now you should be able to do this in your bios, but if not, then you must change the jumper setting on the mainboard.your mainboard manual will have this info.have fun.don't worry,it's a simple process either way.yes you look for 166. this is doubled by the ddr to make 333.
