Ok, here's the thing: I'm going to buy a Nvidia 9700GTX card, and for that I need a new motherboard, one with PCI-E.
But which one?
I need one with:

* Socket 478
* 4x 184pin DDR (4*512 RAM)
* PCI-E

I know that the options are limited, as not many Socket 478-motherboards supports that many RAM-blocks.

I only use my computer for games, so a fast motherboard is preferred.
I have, however, no intention of overclocking (yeah, I'm chicken :wink: !).

The price should be about $160, but I'm willing to pay a little more if it's required, so don't hold back on the suggestions!

My current system:

CPU - Intel Intel P4 3200 Mhz
Motherboard - Intel D875PBZ
RAM - Corsair PC3200LL, 2048 MB (4*512)
Video card - BFG Geforce FX5950 Ultra 256MB

Just ask if you need any more info!
Thanks!

Asus P4GD1
P5 Ai Proactive Series
-Intel 915P chipset
-PCI Express Architecture
-Dual-Channel DDR400
-High Definition Audio
-4 Ports Serial ATA & IDE RAID
-AI NOS™
-AI NET2

How does this look? Don't know about price (not at newegg).
It's only a suggestion to look at.

I'm not sure if there are any boards that meet your requirements - i don't think there are. Maybe Crash or Conroe can chime in on this question...

If there are no mobos that can do what you want and you still want to reuse that RAM, then you could eBay the mobo/processor and get an Asus A8R MVP with a A64 3200+ Venice for about $243. The A64 setup would be faster for gaming anyway. Just some food for thought...

I found the P4GD1 for $144.64 USD. I would drop that cpu and go to socket 939 or LGA775.

EDIT - It's not at the site.
One sold on ebay for $203.51!

Ok, after some searching (the google kind and the soul kind) I've decided, to:
a: Buy a P4GD1. It's pretty hard to get where I live (Denmark)
or
b: Buy another cpu/RAM/motherbord etc..... but that's another story!

Anyhow, you have my thanks!

Upgrading and buying PC parts is almost always a soul-searching experience...it can also be a wallet-emptying experience, but that is another story!
