Hello, I am trying to find the specs on all the computers in this office. So far it has been as easy as getting info via My Computer. I came across a P3 running Windows 2000 SP3 and when I get the information through My Computer it just gives basic X86 model but no speed. I found a website that gave information on how I should find the specs, that site is here: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000017.htm#01 but the System Information program was not there.

I am assuming I will have to log on as admin to do this but I was able to find this program on another P3 running Windows 2000 SP4 without logging in as admin. Is there another way I could find out this information or will I have to download a third party program?

Thanks,
Dan

There are a couple of programs you can use. One is this Intel program which identifies which processor is on that machine.

The other is CPU-Z which will provide the core name and all information associated with the processor.

The CPU-Z I find to be a great program for that reason.

These are third party programs. I'm sure there are other ways of finding out without having to use these programs.

I agree with luminaris about CPU Z. You should download it it's free, it will also give you some info about the ram you're using and some other stuff
