card. The 7900 hasn't been a good experience for me and I was wondering should I try another or buy a xt1800xt 512 card?

Can't even see the POST screen after installation.LOTS of other people having the same problem and apparently NVIDIA is having some kind of BIOS problem.

Not a hardware problem, 7800gtoc works like a charm in the same computer. Many people having the same problem.

The 7900GT is a very nice card. It's possible eVGA had a bad batch that happens all the time.

Return it where you purchased it and get a brand new one or RMA it and get one that works.

Just because some 7900GTs are having issues doesn't mean you should go with ATI.

ATI cards have issues too.

No, eVGA dropped the ball. They have admitted they have driver issues and bios problem. One guy RMA'd his eVGA 7900 and replaced it with a BFG7900 and it works fine.It is not a hardware problem.

That's what I plan to do.After hearing all of the " eVGA is great" talk I have made my own mind up about their CUSTOMER SUPPORT, or lack of.

I got an eVGA card, works pretty well, even though its an agp 6600gt, which during its time kicked ass. Like they said, maybe it was a bad set.

I got both of mine from eVGA yesterday, and haven't had any major issues. Have you tried the new bios that eVGA has availible? I am having one minor issue, but it is not preventing the card from working at all, so it's not worrying me that much yet.

Nobody produces perfect cards all of the time.

The measure of how good a company is, is how they handle their mistakes... if they take care of you, or hang you out to dry.

But mistakes are inevitable. Part of life.

The 7900 GT does not slaughter the X1800 XT. They are pretty much neck and neck, in fact the X1800 XT usually bests it in the graphics intensive games that count.

Overclocking is a different story, the 7900 GT has a definite edge there. But stock? It certainly doesn't slaughter it. In fact, the X1800 XT is superior from what I've seen.
