Hi, i'm planning to upgrade my video card and i'm stuck on whether to buy a 6800gs or an Asus N6800 (512mb). I'm on a tight budget and i dotn' really have the money to upgrade to 7800gs. Can anyone tell me which card performes better? I'm planning to play Oblivion, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., BF2 etc. on near-max or max quality on 1024 x 768 resolution

My system specs:
AMD 64 3200+
ASUS A8V Deluxe
OCZ 1 GB Premier Series
Maxtor 160gb Harddrive
Ati 9800 Pro
Antec Sonata (380w PSU)

Thanks in Advanced

The 6800GS is better for sure. That Asus is an overpriced piece of junk. The 512MB is just a marketing scam. It has a crippled 128-bit memory bus and even lower mem clock speeds than a vanilla 6800 should have. Basically, a 6800GS is high clocked 6800, where both have a 256-bit memory interface. So 6800GS>6800vanilla>>>that crippled 512MB 128-bit Asus.

The 7800GS is $270 on Newegg after $20 rebate and it would spank the 6800GS. But if that is too much money, don't buy that Asus. A X800 GTO or 6800GS would be the sub $200 AGP cards to look at.
