new graphics card for oblivion

i am looking for a new pcie card for oblivion i either want the 7600gt of the x800xl. which one would be better for this game?

my specs:
3200+ venice
1gb kingston
100gb maxtor sata
BFG nforce 4 ultra mobo

The X800 XL is inferior to the 7600 GT, but the X850 XT is another good option under $200 in PCI-express.

Both the 7600 GT and X850 XT are excellent cards, both have strengths and weaknesses. My favorite of the two is the X850 XT, some will disagree, but you can't really go wrong with either.

X800XL - inferior
7600GT - shader model 3 support,BUT 128 bit memory
X850XT - no shader model 3 support, BUT 256 bit memory

Like Cleeve said can't really go wrong with either.

I have a 7800 GTX 256 MB and it does fine with the game... if I were to buy a video card today I'd definitely be aiming for a 7900 GT in the $280-$300 range... if I couldn't afford that, I'd save my money until I could.
