Try SysTool from techpowerup... I think the latest is release 649
It will allow you to s/w overclock your CPU and GPU... or just one and not the other...

As far as I know and have seen, there is no way to overclock a dell machine. They pretty much lock everything in the BIOS.

I could be wrong about this but, every Dell machine i've worked on or own, I can't overclock them at all.

The only way you might be able to do it is using a 3rd party software overclocking utility. Like what Rich suggested.

There's no way to do it in the BIOS.

there are these little cylindrical things you can buy . they're called M80's. they make your computer go really fast..

you insert them into your key components and take their wires and tie them together.. than you light it..

watch ihow fast it goes!

I'm going to assume this guy knows that OC'n a laptop is going to shorten his battery's life as well pose a potential thermal problem for him... it's not like you can add a 120 mm fan to a laptop to keep the temps down.

ROFL im with ya. overclocking a dell lappy/desktop is a waste of time, if you even can. face it dells are made for the tech retard of america, aka the average citizen/resident. :D  the only people who tend to overclock are enthusiasts if that is you, you bought the wrong comp. sorry!

  stupid dells....

Don't waste your time. I see melted non-POSTing plastic in your future.

Hey! I just ordered a Dell Inspiron... Core Duo, 1 GB RAM, X1400 Video, etc. etc. etc... I start teaching as a part-time professor and I needed something to drag to class... Dell does fine for that and at a price that can't be beat.

You need to download a modded BIOS.
Search the Dell forums and talk to users.
Or just Google for the BIOS.

I upgraded my Inspiron hard drive 4400 to 7200rpm and gave it 1gig of ram. Let me tell you, what a difference. Runs pretty fast.
