VGA upgrade

Im switching to PCI-E currently running a 6800GT in AGP and want somthing that will run better than that did...is the 7600 they way to go or should i go for somthing a little more?? any help is appreciated

The 7600GT is not a good upgrade from a 6800GT. I'd look for a $290 X1800XT 256MB or $330 7900GT if you must have NV. 7800GT would be a good option too, if it is cheaper than those other two. Anything less is too weak to call an upgrade from your still good card. If that is too expensive, maybe keep the 6800GT for now. Are you moving to S939 A64? If so, you could do the Asrock Dual SataII mobo which can use your AGP 6800GT for now and a 7900GT/X1800XT/whatever PCI-e later.

only prob with staying is that the 6800 is not doing enough for me...i get a bit of lag when playing battlefield 2 even with the settings at low with everything off

I won't even say anything, because you'll just start flaming me, and saying that I don't know shit about graphics cards. BTW; I'm sorry that I said your 3DMark05 score sucks . Bash the hell out of my x600; I like to defend my worthless $10 POS card .

system specs in sig....only reason i can say i get lag is cuz i play in 64 player maps....in single player i usually run on med

Do you have all your drivers installed properly? You really shouldn't be getting CPU lag with a S939 3200+, ive built 3 comps with that, one running a 5900 LX, one running a 7800 GT, one running a 6600 vanilla. All can play 64 player maps without lag. The 6600 runs the game on medium, with shadows on low, but everything else on medium. And all get no lag related to map size.

You are getting lag in 64 player games and think it's your video card? Have you checked your framerates while playing to see if they drop and that it's not just server lag? Most but not all the 64 player servers I have been in are too laggy for my liking, even when my framerates are in the 80's. Check your fps while playing and if they are not dropping too low, it's not your video card. Stick to the servers you find the best or do 32 player games.

go for 7900gtx if u want upcoming titles like crysis n elder scrolls 4 in their full glory.
