uhh u think its stable ??

lol

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=50149

What's your definition of "stable"? If your definition is being able to run Prime95 or Folding@Home for 8+ hrs then probably not. However, I do believe I read somewhere that a Pentium CPU overclocked above 7Ghz was able to complete SuperPi to 1M.

I've seen where an FX-57 overclocked to 4Ghz was stable enough to run SuperPi to 1M.

Now I wouldn't call running SuperPi to 1M completely stable, but to be stable enough to get a time with those types of overclocks is a feat.

He may have just disabled the L1/L2 cache, in which case it could run Prime95 fine, although one pass would hours/days not minutes/seconds. :p

The RAM is clocked just under it's limit.

The CPU will Throttle when (if caches not disalbed) it gets too hot, so he might only see 1/3rd the performance if not well cooled.

It might be very well cooled.

The northbridge is the weakest link I can see there, and if it is well cooled it may very well be stable. It might just throttle a little bit here and there in some applications.

The 65nm CPUs from Intel will clock very high, a 45nm / 32nm 'Pentium 4' would reach 10 GHz, just as Intel claimed. It would require heaps of power, and thus cooling to do it though. However Intel is unliekly to build 32nm NetBurst CPUs and sell them, as with Conroe, Woodcrest, Merom, Kentsville, etc due out... well you get my point surely.

Conroe on 65nm will never reach 8 GHz, the core(s) are just too complex. But if someone was able to clock on at 4 GHz it would perform like a 7.2 GHz Pentium 4/D.

that's 7.4Ghz... I'd heard the record was 7.12Ghz, and that was the guy that did SuperPi 1M in 18.2 seconds. World record AMD @ 4Ghz did it in 22.2369 seconds.

7.12ghz was done on a 90nm prescott, 65nm's should go much further

yeah, 65nm dual core! man that must be fast 8O

wtf is this guy doing !
He's elongating his e-penise.

Hmm, maybe it's Photoshoped? Is it possible? Yes. I don't know, something is fishy around here.

it's CPU-Z validated, for cried out loud! and you think it's photoshopped?

I've seen 10GHz P4's and 8GHz AMD64's "CPU-Z Verified", and you're saying believe that?

unfortunately as many have suggested it is very easy to oc when the caches have been disabled. so some one could have had a 10ghz or 8 ghz oc with no cache and still be cpuz verified.

My point was that it isn't a REAL overclock, a REAL overclock has these paramaters:

L2 Cache ENABLED (You can't disable L1)
1:1 Ratio of FSB:RAM (Can be ASYNC on A64 due to Mem Ctrl)
Prime Stable For 24 Hours (Using all Cores available)

I doubt that is any of the 3.

I never said it was a genuine overclock. I suggest you read my post again. All I was pointing out was that it was not a photoshop.
