Hey all,

I was wondering how to monitor my fan speed and temperature on my video card. Someone told me to download ATiTool. I went to guru3d.com and found the latest version. It says it is an overclocking tool and I'm not sure if I want to overclock. Can the software be used without overclocking my card. I have a Radeon X800GTO IceQ II Turbo 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 card.

I still not sure if overclocking is safe.

Thanks

It's extremely unlikely that Speedfan will provide the fan speed and temp for the graphics card.

I haven't personally used the ATiTool, but I'm sure you can use it to monitor fan speed and temp without actually overclocking the graphics card.

The documentation for ATiTool can be found here.

I have an almost identical card.

You do NOT have to overclock using ATI TOOL.

There is control for fan speed only. You can choose to run at a specific speed all the time or stagger the speed depending on GPU temperature.

Get it, you'll be happy.

And eventually, when you're less afraid, you'll overclock and be even happier.

as long as you don't touch the sliders and you don't press the "set clock" button after changing the clock, you should be fine
