my system keeps freezing up whenever i try to run any prog to monitor my cpu temp. i have installed ntune, speedfan, and cpu-z. as soon as i run any one of theese progs my system just locks up. any help would be appreciated, as i am pretty much freaking out at this point.

what type of mainboard and cpu installed?

does your mainboard driver /utilities cd have a temp monitor prog already installed or running?

its an evga nforce4 sli mobo. not the best i know, but a buddy of mine got it free from newegg and he gave it to me. my cpu is an opteron 175 dual core. i did download cpuinfo and powermonitor from amd opteron drivers and utils site. and they work, but neither shows cpu temp.
