I am new to the forums, but have been a long time reader of THW. I am looking to upgrade my systems video card, and was hoping someone could lend me some advice. Im looking for the best performance I can get for around $300-400.

Dell Precision 370
Intel P4 3.4GHz w/HT
2.5Gig PC2 4200 RAM
Radeon x300 128MB

I am limited to not being able to changing the motherboard or CPU for thenext 3 years. So I am looking for something that should let me run those upcoming games decently. I primarily play World of Warcraft, and want to runit with max settings at a decent resoloution.

If it is Agp try the 7800GS at 284 at newegg.com If you have PCI-E go for the X1800XT you'll have better image quality than Nvidias 7900GT and nice frame rates.

If you do get a 7800 GS AGP make sure you get the Gainward 7800 GS, it uses a 7800 GT PCI-Ex bridged down to AGP.

Other then that, prozac = booya!

The system is PCI-E. So it looks like 7900GT or X1800XT. Are there any recomendations as to which brand to choose in particular? (read as which one do I get?)
