Bad PCI card?

I have a adaptec duoconnect (AUA-3020) it has 2 firewire and 3 usb 2.0 ports. I have tried to install this card in 4 different computer and it wont work in any. AFter restarting 3 of the 4 computers freeze. The other one just doesnt see the new card, but before it did freeze. When the computers that freeze, they freeze right before installing the driver. I was thinking maybe the card needs a bigger power supply saince the largest ps in the computers is 250 watts. When i intsall the card i only have the master hard drive and the pci card plugged in all other pci cards are removed. DO i have a bad card or do i need a bigger power supply? Thanks in advance.

I'd say bad card - but that's not 100%.
