The K8N-DL is a very good board, it does support a single processor, but I have to agree with Scout on "Why?".

Unless you are going to be running a very hardcore server off of this (ie. 100+ MB TIFF image rendering / heavy useage SQL database / Windows DC with Exchange), you might be better served buying something along the lines of the ASUS A8N-SLI with an Opteron 170/175/180. That way you get your dual-cores right off the bat, and don't need to worry about the expensive board, ECC Reg RAM and the possible future second processor.

I admit the socket 939's are a little more expensive in the single-core variants, but to be honest, with everything changing sockets in 3-4 months, unless you are going to be buying a second processor for that board within 3-4 months, don't bother unless you NEED it NOW. If you really want dual physical chips, wait for Socket 1207 boards (if you can) until July-August (I know ASUS already has designs in the works for these).
